Julia Sawalha (born September 9, 1968) is an English actress. She voiced Ginger in Chicken Run.
Although Sawalha wanted to reprise the role in Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, the producers believed her voice sounded "too old" after 20 years. The role was recast with Thandiwe Newton, who is only four years younger. Sawalha criticized this as ageist and even uploaded a video of herself repeating Ginger's dialogue from the original film to prove she still sounded the same.
